Dear Friends and Members of Emmanuel Church,
It’s a beautiful, cold morning on God’s hill!
But tomorrow in church, we will be warm. Adult Bible Study is at 9 a.m. Worship is at 10:15 and we will be discussing Mary’s song from Luke, Chapter One. We will also be dedicating our Export version of the Gospel of Luke, where we hand wrote (!) out the story of Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection. We will be using this very special Bible throughout the Advent and Christmas Season.
Following worship is the Congregational Meeting for the purpose of electing members of Consistory for the new year. And from 12 to 3 will be our annual Secret Pal Christmas Party. Secret Pals give small gifts every month of the year to remember and build fellowship.
Next Sunday is the Fourth Sunday in Advent and the Christmas Cantata presented by the choir. Hear the Bible lessons in song! The Noisy Collection will also be taken.
At 2 p.m. on December 18th, we will meet at church to go caroling for our Nursing Home Residents. We should be finished around 4 p.m.
Christmas Eve is Saturday night December 24th. We will have a meditative Christmas Eve candle lighting service with Holy Communion will be held at 7pm.
And the next morning, December 25th is the Birthday of our Lord! We will have an informal, come as you are, sing along to Christmas Carols service at 10:15 a.m. See you in church!
Grace and Peace,
Pastor Joseph
