March 18, 2016–Holy Week and Easter


Dear friends and members of Emmanuel Church,

It is a beautiful morning up on the Hill!

Tonight from 6-8 p.m is Messy Church for Big People and Little People.  This is our newest series of Bible Study lessons (Noah’s ark this month), craft, songs, and snack.  Learn to engage the Bible with your friends!

Saturday morning is CPR Class led by Wayne Moore at 9 a.m.  No pre-registration is required!

This Sunday is Palm Sunday.  The choir will be offering a Cantata–called Resurrection Alleluias.     At the Adult Sunday School class at 9 a.m., we will be having a discussion about the Book of Exodus.  The Annual Easter Egg Huntwill follow worship.

Sunday evening is Prayer Angels at 6 p.m. We have one blanket to make.  This weekend for an infant.

Monday night March 21 is no Choir practice.

Tuesday morning is Bible Study at 10 a.m.  We are studying the end of the Gospel of Mark and will probably be pivoting into Romans this week.

Maundy Thursday begins with a Soup Supper at 6:30 p.m.  Worship will follow around the tables in the Steele Building.  It will be an interactive communion service.

A Good Friday Prayer Service is scheduled at Hill’s for 7:30 p.m. on March 25th.

Saturday is getting ready for the Easter Breakfast.  If you can help out talk to Pastor Joseph or Sandy Sinan.

Easter Sunday-

  • Community worship is at 6:30 a.m. in the cemetery.  
  • Easter Breakfast is from 7 a.m. until 10 a.m.
  • Early Easter Worship with Communion is at 8 a.m.  
  • Late Easter Worship is at 10:15 a.m. with Communion. 

Due to Easter scheduling, Confirmation Class will meet at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, March 29th at Salem Lutheran Church in Delmont, to serve at the Soup Kitchen, Salem Serves.
