Dear friends and members of Emmanuel Church,
Launch into Lent this week! Friday night is a special event–our Westmoreland Association Northern Cluster Churches will gather together for a U2charist, which is a worship service using the music of the rock band U2. Since Hill’s is hosting, we are asking our members to bring food for the reception afterwards. It’s sure to be a special night! So come and check it out!
This Sunday is Souper Bowl Sunday! Plan on bringing a non-perishable food item for the Westmoreland County Food Bank (or a cash donation). We will have a soup cook off after worship along with some surprises. So bring your best soup dish and compete with your friends by raising money at the same time for the hungry of our community.
Sunday is the next in our theme “2016–The Year of the Bible.” At the Adult Sunday School class at 9 a.m., we will be having a discussion about the main text, Genesis 12 and God’s covenant with Abraham. Worship is at 10:15 and the sermon title is: “Puzzle pieces.” We will also be sharing the Lord’s Supper together in worship.
Monday night February 8th is Choir Practice.
Tuesday morning is Bible Study at 10 a.m. We are studying the Gospel of Mark.
