Dear friends and members of Emmanuel Church,
This Sunday is the Third Sunday of Advent. We have some wonderful worship plans for this weekend–the sermon is based on one of Israel’s prophets Zephaniah 3 & Luke 3. The sermon is “Zepha-who? In Advent?” Worship is at 10:15 a.m. We will be putting together and distributing fruit baskets this Sunday during the adult Sunday School time at 9 a.m. If you can deliver a fruit basket, please talk to me or Sue Gay. After worship will be a short congregational meeting to nominate and elect members to Consistory for the 2016 term.
Sunday afternoon is Confirmation Class at 6 p.m.
Monday night December 14 is Choir Practice.
Tuesday morning is Bible Study at 10 a.m. We are studying the Gospel of Mark, Chapter 8.
Next Saturday, December 19th, is the wedding of Katie Cline and Craig Slafka at Church at 3 p.m. Congratulations!
Next Sunday: December 20 is the Fourth Sunday of Advent/Choir Cantata and Noisy Collection. Come out that Sunday and hear some of the most beautiful sounds of the season. After worship, the Children’s Ministry is practicing for Christmas Eve for one hour. If you would like your child(ren) to participate, plan on bringing them to the practice. If for any reason your children cannot attend the practice but would still like to be involved on Christmas Eve, please call me as soon as possible.
December 20th at 6 pm is our monthly meeting of the Prayer Angels at church.
Christmas Eve Service is at 7 p.m. The service will include candles, communion, and participation by the children. It will be a meaningful event! Tell your friends!
