Good morning friends and members of Emmanuel Church,
Tomorrow, Saturday morning, December 6th at 9 a.m. is Decorating of the Church for the Christmas Season. We did a little bit last week during worship and now we are going to finish up. It’s a good time to see friends, grab a cup of coffee and help out! See you then.
Sunday, December 7th is the Second Sunday of Advent. The Core Discipleship Theme (10-10-10) is PEACE. The Core Discipleship Program means that the theme of PEACE will be the focus of the Worship Service at 10:15 a.m., as well as the theme for Sunday Morning Bible Study, devotions before
Consistory, personal devotions through the week, and so on. Orange colored handouts are available Sunday morning for those who would like to follow along or see Pastor Joseph for more details.
After Worship, we will have our annual Christmas Party. If you would like your child to recieve a gift from St. Nicholas, please wrap and label it and place it in the church office before the party. We will be taking the children out of the party for a short period of time to practice songs for Christmas Eve at 7 p.m. (See below.)
Choir is Monday night at 7 p.m.
Tuesday morning is Bible Study at 10 a.m.
Consistory is Wednesday Evening at 7 p.m.
Saturday, December 13th, at 10 a.m. is our Core Discipleship/ 10-10-10 Meeting. Topic of discussion will be PEACE and we will have a chance to go out to lunch afterwards.
Sunday, December 14th is Worship at 10:15 a.m. The Core Discipleship/10-10-10 theme will be JOY.
We will be Caroling for our Shut-Ins/Nursing Home Residents after worship at 2 p.m. Please talk to the Pastor if interested.
Looking ahead to Christmas Eve, we will have 2 services. 7 p.m. worship will be Family Friendly and is entitled “Love in the Cradle.” I would like a few grown ups/parents to help me with the 7 p.m. service. We are going to need some help with props and stage direction, since we’re dealing with little children. If you can help out, please let me know and I will let you know what is going on.
11 p.m. is the Late Service and the title of it is “The Whole Story of Christmas Love.”
Both Services will feature communion and candlelighting.
