Weekly Update–July 25, 2014

Phil bookmarks smiling

Good morning friends and members of Emmanuel Church,

The above picture is from our partner church, Exodus UCCP in Currimao, Philippines.  They are holding in their hands Bible bookmarks that Hill’s children made in Vacation Bible School this June!  Make sure you look at the smiles on everyone’s faces! Thank you for supporting this awesome ministry!  More pictures are available on our facebook page here.
This Sunday will be worship with Hymn Sing and the message will be based on Romans 8 with the title,“What’s Imagination Got to Do With It?”

Next Sunday, August 3, will be August Communion. We will have our first of the month birthday recognition and covered dish after worship.

Please remember:  we are still collecting for St. Paul’s Retirement Home Christmas in July and the Blackburn Center Women’s and Children’s Shelter.  You can make a difference in someone’s life by supporting either of these two great mission projects!  Thank you in advance.

This weekend we will be saying farewell to Rev. Char Burch, our interim Conference Minister for the past few years, and we look forward to working with our incoming Conference Minister, Rev. David Ackerman, who starts August 1!  Join me in praying for both of these collegues in ministry.
Grace and Peace,

Pastor Joseph
