Good afternoon Friends and Members of Emmanuel Church,
First of all, thank you for all the calls and emails about the fire at Carl and Shelby Patty’s home. The Number 1 Question on everyone’s lips is “How can I help?” First, the good news–the Pattys were relatively unhurt, as was their dog. Second, they have insurance and will be able to rebuild. Third, the bad news–the house is a total loss and the worst damaged parts of the home were their living quarters–so at the moment that means no clothes, personal items and so on. A fund has been set up through the Murrysville Historical Society or you can give cash at church and we will see that it gets deposited for you. You can make out a check to the Carl Patty Fund, c/o Murrysville Historical Preservation Society, 4100 Sardis Road, Murrysville, PA 15668. Thank you for being generous in advance.
We also received notice this week that Frannie Stoops, a friend of Hill’s, passed away on December 18th. More information can be found here.
On Saturday, December 21st, we will meet at church at 1 p.m. and visit our retirement home residents with our Christmas Caroling. Help to bring some Christmas cheer to those whom we love!
Sunday, December 22nd is the Fourth Sunday of Advent with worship at 10:15 a.m. The choir will be sharing their Cantata musical program with the congregation.
Sunday Evening, also December 22, is the Living Nativity Program, sponsored by our Confirmation Class and Children’s Ministry. We could use some help with cookies and hot chocolate. Talk to me if you can help out. Thanks in advance.
