Weekly Update–June 28, 2013

Dear Friends and Members of Emmanuel Church,

What a week!  We had a very fruitful and energetic Vacation Bible School this past week.  Thanks to everyone who worked so hard to get things put together and running smoothly.  I know the children liked it and they came up with some really great and creative insights into the Bible lessons!  There was a really good discussion of the 10 Commandments on Wednesday night–pretty advanced for the age of the children we have.

Saturday morning is a continuing of the work on the garage roof in the cemetery.  If you can help out, plan on being over at the garage around 9 a.m.

Sunday is Emmanuel’s 193rd Anniversary!  We will be joined by Rev. Richard Seigfried will be here bringing greetings from the Conference and we will also be joined by Emmanuel’s 4th Pastor, Rev. Jacob Snyder.

415yf2ZiBVL._SY300_Sunday night is MOOK–“Meaningfully Obeying Our King”, at First UCC in Apollo at 6 p.m.  We are studying Laurene Bowers book, “Becoming a Multicultural Church,” Chapter 1: The plagues.  Want to know what is plaguing your life?  The Church?  Come and find out!  You don’t have to have the book to benefit from the discussion.  The location of the church is here.

After worship there will be a dinner in the Steele Educational Building.  Chicken, beverage and cake will be provided.  Please bring a side dish to pass.  There will be games for the children and adults.

Next week is July 4th.  The office will be closed on Thursday for the holiday.  We are also taking a summer break for Tuesday morning Bible Study.  It will resume in September.

Grace and Peace,

Pastor Joseph
