Holy Week and Easter Schedule

Good morning Friends of Emmanuel Church,

Tonight is Maundy Thursday.  The word Maundy comes from the Latin for command and refers to Jesus’ final command to his disciples that we “love one another.”  As part of that last command, we will remember the last meal of Jesus’ life with a simple soup and bread supper that starts at 6:30 p.m. in the Church Basement followed by sharing communion & a service featuring a non-traditional sermon with computer visuals.

Tomorrow night is our Good Friday Healing Service at 7:30 p.m.

Easter stoneHoly Saturday is a day of solemnity and personal observance.

Easter Sunday begins with our Community Sunrise Service at 6:30 a.m.  We will gather in the Steele Building and will process out to the cemetery cross.  There are services with Communion in the Sanctuary at 8 a.m. and 10:15 a.m.  Following the later service, the children will gather for an Easter Egg Hunt.  There is a breakfast from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. in the church basement that is free and open to the public.

I hope you will all have a blessed Easter and celebrate the power and the glory of our Lord’s passion, death, and resurrection.

Grace and Peace,

Pastor Joseph
