Weekly Update–December 7, 2012

Hello friends of Emmanuel Church,

First off–I need your help!  We would like to sing Christmas Carols for our Retirement Home residents and Homebound Residents–but I’d like to know who is interested and when you might be available.  Suggeted times have been after lunch this Sunday, December 9th, anytime Saturday, December 15th or some other time?  If you would like to go, it takes about 2 hours or so and brings light and joy to people this time of year.  Please contact me if you have a suggestion/question.

This Sunday is the Second Sunday of Advent.  Worship is at 10:15 and the sermon is called “Reading the Introduction” and is based on Luke 1:67-79–the song of joy John the Baptist’s father sings when John is born.    We will also be putting together the fruit baskets for many of our members–that happens prior to worship.

Wednesday is a tour of Redstone Highlands with lunch.  If you would like a tour, please let me know by Tuesday, December 11 so we can get an accurate count to Redstone.  Wednesday evening Consitory meets at 7 p.m. for our final meeting of 2012!

Looking ahead:  Monday, December 17th:  Advent Calendar Unveiling at 6 p.m. with cookies and hot drinks.

Grace and Peace,
