This past Sunday we had a special mystery guest in worship for the second of our on-going series: “God Sightings: Mystery Guest Worshipper.”
Question: What was yesterday’s worship experience or special occasion?
Answer: It was the Twentieth Sunday After Penteocst and Hunger CROP Walk.
Question: Did anyone welcome you personally?
Answer: Yes.
Question: How would you describe the pre-service atmosphere?
Answer: Friendly.
Question: What were the exact opening words of the service?
Answer: ‘Good morning’ . . . Then announcements. Then ‘Let us begin our worship in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.’
Question: Which books did the congregation use during the service?
Answer: The Black Hymnal [New Century Hymnal].
Question: What musical instruments were played?
Answer: Organ, piano.
Question: Did anything distract you?
Answer: No.
Question: What was the title of the sermon?
Answer: ‘Questioning the Rules’
Question: In a nutshell, what was the sermon about?
Answer: The giants in our life; i.e. not letting go, greed, depression, etc.
Question: What part of the service was like being in heaven?
Answer: Childrens message. It is a joy to hear the babies cry, little ones run up/down the aisle, their smiles and they help make the service. They show God’s love.
Question: How would you describe the after-service fellowship time?
Answer: It was friendly and lots of food.
Question: Did this service make you feel glad to be a Christian?
Answer: Yes
Question: What is the one thing you will remember about this worship in a few days’ time?
Answer: The anti-bullying message [during the Children’s Time].
