Weekly Update–July 26, 2012

Good morning friends and members of Emmanuel Church,

Tonight is our Member in Discernment Committee meeting with Ryan Lucas. It begins at 7 p.m. here at the church. Ryan is currently a student in the Penn West Academy and is seeking to follow God’s call to ministry in the United
Church of Christ. Tonight we will talk over with him plans for an 18-month strategic plan for his ministry here at Hill’s. In addition, Ryan is leading his first service from start to finish this Sunday at the UCC congregation in
Harrison City. Ryan, we’re proud of you!

Sunday at Hill’s, I will be preaching on the sin of David in 2 Samuel 11. The title of the sermon is “A Bleak Chapter.” This is one of the better known stories (unfortunately) about King David’s life.

God’s call to her.
