Hello friends and members of Emmanuel Reformed,
This Sunday is a busy one for everyone at the church. The choir cantata, entitled “Rejoice Believers!” is the main part of the program for 10:15 a.m. worship. The children will be collecting their “Joyful Noise Collection” for Living Waters.
Following worship is the Congregational Meeting to elect members to Consistory and to approve the proposed budget for 2012.
Christmas Eve Services:
7 p.m.–Christmas Eve Family Service with Communion and Candlelight.
11 p.m.–Christmas Eve Late Service with Communion and Candlelight.
Christmas Day:
10:15 a.m.–Our informal service of Carol-singing. Bring your coffee, your bunny slippers, your out of town relatives and we will be having a short service to celebrate the birth of our Lord.
Grace and Peace,
Pastor Joseph
“God and Father of Jesus, on this holy night
you give us your Son, the Lord of the universe
and the Savior of all peoples, as an infant wrapped in swaddling clothes
and lying in a manger.
In the first moments of his life you showed us the paradox of your love.
Open us up to the mystery of his powerlessness
and enable us to recognize him in plain-spoken word and simple meal.
This we ask in his name, he who lives and reigns with you
and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.”
–Traditional Communion Prayer for Christmas Eve

Thank you for this post…I have been scurrying around via plane…and feel blessed to have celebrated pre-Christmas and the Holy Spirit in the church of my youth…Your theme Rejoice Believers….Amen! I will be rejoicing now and throughout the New Year!!! I will check out your other post What Angels Don’t Say when I return from another short trip..The theme sounds intriguing…
What I have experienced is that Angels whisper, look, touch, or motion….I will tell you about that also later. God bless you Pastor Hedden!
