Weekly Update–First Week of November

Good morning friends and members of Emmanuel Church,

Sunday morning we will have worship at 10:15 with the Sermon Lesson based on
Matthew 25:1-13. The Sermon Title is “Overslept.”

On Sunday evening we will meet at Gearhardt Farms for the Corn Maze, Hayride and Bonfire at 4:30. To go through the Corn Maze costs 5 dollars per person. Children under 4 are free. Hayride and Bonfire are 8 dollars per person. Children under 4 are still free! Hot dogs and various munchies are provided. Bring your favorite snack food and/or some drinks and be ready for a great bonfire.

We have started the Mission 1 offering, where we are trying to collect 1 million items of healthy food by November 11. You can bring food all November (or any time during the year for that matter) and we will donate it on Hills behalf to the Westmoreland County Food Bank. But for it to count for Mission 1, we need to have a tally by Friday, Nov. 11. For information on the national push for Hunger Assistance, as well as an hourly updated tally board, click www.ucc.org.

Next week is Bible Study Tuesday morning at 10:00 a.m. You are invited to come along! Consistory is on Wednesday, November 9th. We are still looking for a few folks to be members for the next term of consistory.

Several folks have asked how to download the sermon to make it portable from this website–1. Right click on the Sermon title
and click save link as. 2. Save to the desktop of your computer or to a particular folder. 3. Then you can use it like any other mp3 file.

Grace and Peace,

Pastor Joseph
