Calendar for the month of October

October 2–World Communion Sunday–Worship at 10:15 a.m. with Chancel Communion and Covered Dish Fellowship Hour after worship.

October 9–CROP Walk at 1:00. We are meeting at Calvary Evangelical Lutheran Church, Old William Penn Highway.

Wednesday, October 12th–Consistory at 7 p.m. Eileen Siegfried will be joining us for the first part of the meeting to explain the process of becoming a partner church with a congregation in the Philippines.

October 16 is the Children’s Sabbath and the children will help with the worship service. It is also the Noisy Collection day.

Tuesday, October 18–MOOK is meeting at 7:00 p.m. to talk about familiar hymns. Meeting at Norwalk Daily Grind.

Saturday, October 22 is our tour of St. Vincent Gristmill. Details to follow soon.

October 28–is our all ages Halloween Party from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. All are invited! Come in costume.

Sunday, October 30–Worship at 10:15 a.m. Special Service where we define some of things we do in worship. Some questions that will be answered are:

What is a Kyrie and Why Do we say it?
Why do we say in the Creed “Holy Catholic Church” when we’re not Catholic?
Why is the Offering so near the end of the service?

At 6:30 on the 30th, we will have our “Emmanuel’s Emergent

Experience.” The Service is titled “Life-con” based on Colossians 3:4, “Christ, who is Our Life.” If you have lost someone and would like to remember them, bring an item or photograph that reminds you of them. We will then create a ‘Living Icon’ in the worship space. The Service will end with a Candlelight procession to the graveyard.
