Thursday Morning Update–July 14th, 2011

Good morning all,

Tonight is the July Meeting of MOOK–Meaningfully Obeying Our King, Emmanuel’s
small group discussion/Bible study. Tonight we’re talking a little detour and
studying Christianity in fiction, using a story of Flannery O’Connor’s as our
starting point. You do not need to have read her story to come tonight. We
meet at 7 p.m. at the Norwalk Daily Grind Coffee House in Plum.

This weekend Bill Dulaney will be preaching. He will be preaching on the Peace
of Christ. Worship is at 10:15.

The Big Apple Adventure Vacation Bible School starts on July 25th from 6:30 to
8:30 p.m. for children ages 4 to 12. We can still use helpers (we can always
use helpers!) but even more than that, we need YOU to promote this with your
relatives and friends to help us get children to come. If you have any
questions, contact Chris Ericson at christianedce@windstream.net.

On Sunday, July 31st, is Emmanuel’s Emergent Experience. At 5:30 p.m., we will
have a gathering time with coffee and friends. There will also be an optional
time for prayer in the pastor’s study. At 6:30 p.m., the Emergent Experience
will start. The Emergent Experience is a multi-sensory, casual worship service.
The theme is “Get Right with the Lord” and the Scripture verse is Colossians 1:6
“The Message bears fruit and gets larger and stronger, just as it has in you. ”
This service is designed for people whose schedule may not permit their
attendance at Sunday Morning Worship and for people who feel they are
‘spiritual, but not religious.’
