Thursday Morning Update–June 9, 2011

Good morning friends,

Tonight is MOOK–Meaningfully Obeying Our King–at Norwalk Daily Grind. We meet at 7 p.m. We will be discussing Christianity in fiction–using Flannery O’Connor’s story “The Life You Save May Be Your Own” and a short story I wrote.

Tomorrow and Saturday is the Penn West Conference Annual Meeting. The Conference is our regional gathering of the United Church of Christ Congregations–please keep the worship leaders, mission partners and delegates in your prayers this weekend.

Sunday, June 12th is a big Sunday for us! Sunday is Pentecost, the festival of the church, with communion. We will also be confirming Kelli Jaszcar, as she enters into relationship with our Lord.

Last night, consistory approved a new service–the last Sunday of every month, beginning in July. Our time will begin at 5:30 p.m. with a time for prayer meeting and coffee. The services will start at 6:30 p.m. The title of this service is “Emergent Worship.” Watch this space for more details! (And if you are interested in helping plan, please contact me!) Thanks.

Grace and Peace,

Pastor Joseph
