The American Church is in trouble. At least according to the book UnChristian by David Kinnaman and Gabe Lyons. People of my generation and under have left the church in droves, preferring a more generic ‘spirituality’. In my sermon, I wrestle with the idea of ‘Spirituality’ in the Gospel of John, Chapter 14, and along the way, I relate a story from Carson McCullers’ beautiful book, The Heart is a Lonely Hunter.
