Good morning Friends of Emmanuel Church,
First this morning: Our prayers and sympathies go out to the Edna Martinella and the Steele Families. Bryce Saylor, Edna’s brother, passed away earlier this
week in Altoona and the funeral is tomorrow in Altoona. You can find the online announcement of his death here.
Saturday is the PA Cleanways event at Church and we will be cleaning Hills Church Road from the church’s property down to old 22 in Export. We will meet in the church parking lot at 9 a.m.
Sunday is the Second Sunday of Easter. The sermon will be based on the Doubting Thomas story from John 20 and is called: Doubt becomes Deeds. It is also the covered dish after worship with a cookie walk–someone will leave church with a tray of homemade cookies! Sunday is also the deadline to have your money in for the Pittsburgh Zoo trip. We’re getting a break on the price; it’s only 10
dollars per person. The trip is on May 15th, after worship.
Next week, there are two events to highlight: The Women’s Guild is sponsoring the Spring Salad Luncheon on Wednesday from 11 to 1. Plan on being there. You
can call the church office to make a reservation. And Thursday, at the Export American Legion, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. is the National Day of Prayer.
Finally this morning, above you can find a poll which will
soon appear in the Weekly Bulletin. The Program Committee is looking for a few
ideas to do in the upcoming months (in other words, long term ideas).
Grace and Peace,
Pastor Joseph
