Holy Week and Easter Schedule

Tonight April 21 we remember the command of our Lord to celebrate the feast of bread and
cup in his memory. We will start at 6:30 p.m with a light soup supper following with a very ancient service of communion worship–from about the year 200 A.D.

Tomorrow night is Good Friday Worship at 7:30 p.m. with a meditation about the
Cross of Jesus.

On Sunday morning there are three services of Easter. 6:30 a.m. is our community outdoor service in Emmanuel’s cemetery.

8:00 a.m. is the Early Easter Service with Communion in the Sanctuary. The
Sermon will be based on the painting of Jesus and Mary Magdalene behind the Communion table in the sanctuary.

10:15 a.m. is the Later Service of Easter with Communion and it’s kind of a riddle–I will be preaching on the Gospel of Mark’s story of the resurrection which ended, in the earliest manuscripts, in the middle of the Chapter 16, verse 8, almost in the
middle of the sentence. (If you are of an age to remember the Choose Your Own
Adventure series of books, that’s what I’m trying to do here.)

Wishing you a blessed Easter and may you know the Risen Christ personally!

Grace and Peace,

Pastor Joseph
