Good morning,
I hope everyone had a fruitful, safe and meaningful Thanksgiving. At the church the sanctuary was decorated for Thanksgiving and this past Saturday re-decorated for the Christmas season. Everything looks very festive!
Tonight we are meeting as part of our small group discussion called MOOK, Meaningfully Obeying Our King. Tonight’s topic: How the Gospel encourages Participation. Everyone is invited to come out and have a cup of coffee at the Norwalk Daily Grind and to join in the discussion. We begin at 7 p.m.
Sunday is the Second Sunday in Advent. The sermon is from John the Baptist’s preaching in Matthew Chapter 3 and the Sermon Title is “Construction Time Again.”
Following worship will be the Annual Christmas party. You are invited to bring a dish to share and if your children are coming, a wrapped gift labeled with their name so that St. Nicholas can give them something special.
On December 12 is the Annual Congregational Meeting following Worship. We will vote on new officers to serve on Consistory. If you know of someone who would like to serve, please get in touch with me.
December 19th is the Cantata and Hymn Sing. The Choir will offer a Cantata which goes through the familiar themes of the season and the congregation will sing some of our well-loved Christmas carols.
On the 24th, we have two services: 7:00 p.m.–which is focused more for families and young children, and 11:00 p.m. Both services will be candlelight and have communion.
Blessings to you all,
Peace,
Pastor Joseph
