Good Morning,
It is to be a beautiful warm and perfect day out there and that’s not an April Fool’s joke.
I hope all of you will gather with us this evening to remember an important day in the History of Christianity. This Maundy Thursday we will gather in the Steele Fellowship Hall for a dinner of soup followed by the Sacrament of Holy Communion. We will worship around the table as Jesus did when he inaugurated the Sacrament. We will begin at 6:30 p.m.
Tomorrow evening will gather at the church at 7:30 p.m. for a Tenebrae Service of Light. In this way we will remember the death of Jesus in a spiritual way of reading scriptures and extinguishing lights. This is a most solemn occasion and should help to prepare us for the Easter Sunrise Service.
We will gather in the Steele Fellowship Hall on Easter Sunday morning at 6:30 p.m. and process to the cross in the cemetery for the Easter Sunrise Service. This will be a Community Service with Pastors from other churches participating. Bring a flashlight because it will be dark at the beginning of the service.
Following the Sunrise Service Hills Church will provide Easter Breakfast from 7 to 10 a.m.
Our Easter Celebration will happen at 8 a.m. and 10:15 a.m. with Communion.
Your presence at the above services will be a witness of your belief in Jesus Christ our risen Savior.
