Candidate for Pastor – The Rev. Joseph Hedden, Jr.

The Rev. Joseph W. Hedden, Jr. will be preaching a trial sermon at Hills Church on Sunday, January 24th at 10:15 a.m.  Following the morning Worship Service the Congregation will vote to call Pastor Hedden as Pastor of Emmanuel Reformed UCC.  If he accepts the call he will begin his ministry on May 1, 2010.

Pastor Hedden is currently the Pastor of Tabor UCC in Lebanon, Pa.  He was ordained 1997 by the Pittsburgh Association of the West Penn Conference of the United Church of Christ.

All are invited to a “Get Acquainted” Reception at Hills Church on Saturday afternoon, January 23, from 3 to 5 p.m.  Pastor Hedden, his wife Jennifer and their two daughters, Miriam (7) and Elizabeth (3) are anxious to meet the congregation.

Both Pastor Hedden and Jennifer are graduates of St. Vincent College in Latrobe.  They are also good friends of the Rev. David Ackerman, pastor of St. Paul’s UCC (Trauger) in Pleasant Unity, PA.

Members of the congregation are requested to bring refreshments (sandwiches, snacks, or desserts) for the reception.  We look forward to a wonderful time of fellowship and an opportunity to meet the family.
