Please join me in praying for the family of Ellen Ruzbarsky. Her funeral was last Saturday in Delmont. You can read the obituary here.
This Sunday, January 19 is worship at 10:15 a.m. I will be preaching on Jesus’ first sermon in the Nazareth synagogue (pictured above) from Luke 4:14-30. We will also be taking a special offering for disaster relief for the wild fires in the Pacific Palisades. You can read more about the relief effort or give electronically here.
Next Sunday will be our Adjourned Congregational meeting after worship. Bring a dish to pass and we will act on the 2025 budget and receive annual reports.
February 9th will be a Valentine’s Day Pasta Dinner following worship. A sign up sheet will be available in the Steele building.
Starting on Thursday, February 6th, Emmanuel’s First Book Club is starting. From 7-8:30, we will be reading Emmy Arnold’s A Joyful Pilgrimage. We will meet February 6, 20, 27, March 6, 20, and 27. You can order the book from Plough Publishing House or the church can get you a copy. Plough also has a free download of the book for your e-reader.
