Emmanuel Reformed will soon be celebrating 204 years!

Dear Friends and Members of Emmanuel Church,

Easter greetings to you in this exciting time of year!  The trees are budding, the flowers blooming, the sun (sometimes) shines through all this rain, and Jesus is risen from the grave!!!

We have a few exciting things to bring you up to speed.  The post-Easter sermon series is on the book of Acts until Pentecost Sunday, May 19th, 2024.  From May 26 to mid-June, we will have a 4 week series called “Coming Home: The Lord’s Prayer” based on Luke 11. Following that, from mid-June to August, we will hear about the First Letter of John for 6 weeks.     The summer season will be rounded out by a five week series on the prophetic book of Daniel.  We look forward to you joining us in worship!

We will celebrate our 204th Anniversary on the weekend of Saturday, June  29 and Sunday, June 30.  On Saturday evening, June 29 from 6-8 p.m. Emmanuel will be hosting an event called “Uncommon Worship: When senses converge.  A Fresh, New Encounter with Jesus.”  This worship event will be held in the lower level dining hall and is a worship experience with music, scripture reading, refreshments, time for reflection.  We need some donations/volunteer help for this service.  Specifically, I’m looking for:

  • Readers
  • Donations of colored pencils and adult coloring books
  • Tealights
  • Snacks
  • Coffee
  • Set up and tear down

Nicole Tascarella, minster of music for Scottdale UCC and Member in Discernment candidate for ordination, will help lead this immersive service and will join us the next morning for our Homecoming Service at 10:15 a.m.  She will deliver the message and the service will include some celebration elements as well as Holy Communion.  I hope you’ll join me.

Grace and Peace,

Pastor Joseph
